Media

At the Media Team at FuturesLab, we explore how news can feel more personal and easier to follow with the help of smart technology. Every day, people are flooded with information, but not everyone has the same amount of time, background, or energy to go through it all. So, we look at how news can shape itself to the user without losing clarity or journalistic quality.

Together with Omroep Brabant, we dive into what people enjoy and find useful: quick updates, audio clips, simple language, or a clean, clear summary. From these insights, we create systems that can transform one piece of news into different versions. Imagine a short summary instead of a long article, a refreshed “for you” page that feels truly personal, or a time slider that adjusts the news to the minutes you have available.

In our MindLabs workspace, we test these ideas with real users. By watching how people read, listen, and scroll, we discover what feels smooth and what still needs adjusting. With every new test, we refine the experience making the news a little more personal and a little more accessible each time.

The goal of the Media Team is to design new ways for people to connect with news ways that fit their day, their rhythm, and their way of understanding the world. We’re building toward a future where news doesn’t just speak to everyone but speaks to you.
